Thank You, Percy!

Today I learned that Stinkerpants Designs was spotlighted on the wonderful blog of Percy Sales Events. I am so excited!

When I first found Percy’s site (months and months ago), I was super impressed to see that he has a special site dedicated to same-sex couples.  I didn’t notice it before, but tonight it made me so happy to see that he donates 10% of his service fees to an equal rights organization!  As you all know, equal rights is an issue I feel very passionate about, and it’s always wonderful to find kindred spirits. He’s obviously also a great planner–he won Wedding Wire’s Bride’s Choice Award for 2009 and offers a lot of helpful advice on his blog.

Needless to say, I was SO flattered by the wonderful things he had to say!  Thank you so much, Percy!  I’m seriously blushing!

PS: I’d love to do your holiday cards!

To read what Percy wrote, check out the blog post here.  Check out his other posts, too, of course: his blog is great!

That’s great that you got mentioned with such a nice write up!

I thought of another business idea for you. (I know – I’m always coming up with crazy ideas that you probably don’t want to use.)

Consider having a booth at the Brazilian Room wedding fairs. Anyone who wants to sign their Brazilian Room contract has to go to the fair to do it, plus each fair has 3-4 caterers (not to mention cake bakers) with samples of their wares so many people just come because it’s the only way to sample the caterers. People even go that want to try the caterers for non-Brazilian Room weddings.

Anyway, we went to two of these and they were the only wedding fairs we went to. Because we had to sign a contract there it was my first exposure to cakes, officiants, caterers, photographers, floral designers, etc. and since I had no idea what I was doing, I paid lots of attention and even contacted several of the photographers, cake bakers, and floral designers afterwards. You’d be getting the wedding market when their little wedding brain is still soft and hasn’t been flooded with The Knot, wedding magazines, and the like. They’d still be paying attention then and the first impressions and ideas last the longest…

  2. I’m super excited about it!

@walletpuppy: that is a GENIUS idea. I actually just called them. It was kind of hard to figure out what the heck the guy meant, but I guess they have the open houses and then they have some other kind of fair that vendors are invited to. I guess they are pretty packed with people for 2009, but he gave me his email and I’m going to ask to be added to the list for 2010. It IS all about timing, and I think this is a great idea! Thanks!
