Pretty stinkin' cute illustrations by Sara Olsher

Stationery Options

Your artwork isn't limited to plain old flat or folded cards. I've got tons of other creative options, too!

Over the life of my business, I've gone from offering flat cards and folded cards to some more creative layouts.  Listed below are some of the most frequently requested, along with some info about each type.  By the way, I am totally open to trying new things, and a lot of these layouts were my clients' ideas! So if you have an idea for a layout that you don't see below, please let me know!  I'd be happy to contact my printer for a price quote.

Stationery Options

Folded Card (1 layout option)

These are great for thank you notes or general stationery.  They come in any size you'd like and usually feature one drawing.  Examples: Bart & Amy, Jason & Paul

Flat Cards (4 layout options)

Flat cards can be used for pretty much any project.  The smaller sizes, like 4-bar and A2, are used for RSVP cards.  Bigger cards, like A6, A7 and A9 can be used for things like Save the Dates or wedding invitations.

  • One-sided flat card: these are great for traditional wedding invitations (example: Bao & James, Stacie & Nick, Michelle & Craig) or for less expensive Save the Dates (example: Leah & Matt) or Moving Cards (example: Amy).
  • You can also combine two flat cards for a more formal look; one flat card can be all-drawing, and the other can have your invitation wording (example: Nina & Yano). You can also include a small line drawing on the invitation card.
  • Two-sided flat card, informational back: if you have a lot of information to share, you might consider a flat card with information written on the back.  Unless you need a completely new drawing, the setup cost for the backside is only $75.  This includes a faded copy of your main drawing (example: Sarah & Somrat) or one small drawing (example: Yvonne & Chris).
  • Two-sided flat card, two drawings:  If you've got two locations to share, or you want to show your proposal story and your wedding venue, you might consider choosing a flat card with two drawings (example: Mary & Kei, Steve & Tara).

Greeting Card Layout

These are a fun option to really make a splash!  An unexpected layout for a wedding invitation or announcement.  These can feature either one drawing (example: Meredith & Ben) or two drawings (examples: Joanna & Padraic, Christie & Kyle).

Tri-fold Layout

One of my most asked about layouts, the tri-fold really makes an impact!  This layout can feature three drawings to really tell a story (example: Stephanie & Gareth) or two drawings with invitation information in the middle (example: Rebecca & Brad).  You could also do one main drawing in the middle, with wording on the other two panels (or wording on one and a tear-out RSVP).

Quadrafold Layout

Because a quadrafold layout has an even number of panels, you can include either four drawings or two (example: Alana & Tim).  This layout is great if your event has two parts (for example, a destination wedding and an at-home reception) or if you're sending invitations to a reception and would also like to announce your marriage.

French Door Layout

Looking for something totally different? These "french door" invitations are really striking.  An unexpected layout for a wedding invitation or announcement.  These work best with two drawings (example: Ryan & Kyle).
