Boutonniere Ribbon

How cute is this polka dot ribbon for a boutonniere?! Why not add a little fun in unexpected places?

We’re going to have some extra tables, I’m sure of it! I’m wondering what we should do for the guestbook table…and the table with the escort cards.
This might be possible to do with fake flowers:

Maybe a combo of the previous and this, with the hanging flowers:

I really like how these topiaries are connected with a little banner:

WOW-EE!

Today I was messing around on the internet when I found photographer Jessica Claire, from LA. MAN is she good! As I was searching through her blog, I ran across this photo of an orchid centerpiece:
I have been talking to florists recently about doing centerpieces, and although they are reasonably priced for flowers, they’re still about $55 per table for the low ones. These orchids look very classy, I think. Maybe it’s the wooden wispy stick things in there? I’m not sure.
Originally we were planning to do orchid centerpieces; we found a place in Half Moon Bay that sells gorgeous orchids for $12-19. Perhaps we can do the tall centerpieces with the florist, and these can be for the other tables? They’re still tall and significantly less expensive. Actually, now that I think about it, those wispy stick things are a lot like the branches we intend to use in our tall centerpieces, which would really tie the centerpieces together well.
I really like the idea of using something ALIVE for a centerpiece. I get to feeling really guilty when I think about all the flowers that sacrifice their lives for weddings!
PS, if you’re into calla lilies and looking for a somewhat less expensive centerpieces, check this one out. It’s similar to the orchids, with the curly willow (that’s curly willow, right?):

I love these pictures! From the engagement session and the wedding. Cute!

Both of these are from Jessica Claire photography. Man, is she ever talented!
Mr. Stinkerpants really likes this one:

From knottie JusLOVEli, who is awesome… This is what I plan to do with the bouquets…mine will be bright, and my beautiful ladies will have white. I think this is a cute picture.

Budget Woes
November 11, 2007 in Our Wedding • Wedding Inspiration • Ramblings While Planning
When I first saw a bride with a photo booth at her wedding, I really wanted one. I thought, “how fun would that be?! We could have all sorts of disguises and props, which would kind of tie in with the proposal! (where everyone was wearing disguises).” Then I saw the price tag, which was $1500. I’ve since found cheaper options, but obviously items like a cake and invitations come before a photo booth. When I showed Mr. Stinkerpants the photo booth idea, he loved it too. So of course, we’re now feeding off of one another. I haven’t thought about it for about a month, but I just looked up Mrs. Hibiscus on Wedding Bee, and saw that she had an AWESOME photo booth with great pictures. So of course I thought, “maybe we can work a photo booth into the budget somehow.”
So I just looked at our budget again, and realized that I’m confused by it. I have no idea where it’s going to end up. We’ve gone way over budget on some things (like the band) and way under budget on others (like the dress, invitations and flowers). But I still have no idea how much certain things will cost. For example, I haven’t got a clue how much our beverages are going to cost us. Same with the cake, makeup and all the little things, such as our hotel room.
I’m also still trying to decide what to do about a videographer. Right now we’re way under budget on Photography/Videography (I’m using the knot’s budgeter), because we’ve only chosen a photographer. At first I thought we wouldn’t need a videographer, but now I’m torn. I definitely want to have a video of some sort, but I don’t know whether I need to actually hire someone to do it (maybe my cousin could bring a camcorder?). I’ve been researching videographers for the last couple of weeks, and their prices vary by a lot. The cheapest I’ve found is $995, but I’m not so sure about his quality. One of the sample videos was shaky and you could hear the white robed monk asking if his hat was on straight as the bride walked down the aisle. So we’ll see about that. I will not be swayed by the amazing videos of Weddings on Film, mostly because there’s no way I can afford it!
Alas, I will have to continue to feel this whole thing out, I suppose…
